Ingredients:
- Milk: 1 Litre
- Rice: 1/2 cup (Washed and soaked in water for 2-3 hours)
- Saffron strands: a few (soaked in 1-2 tbsp milk)
- Almonds: a handful (Soak in water for 2-3 hours, peel and chop them)
- Sugar: 8-10 tbsp (or to taste)
- Green cardamom pwd: 1 tsp
- Cinnamon pwd: 1 tsp (optional)
Method:
- Mash soaked rice with hands.
- Boil milk in pan.
- Add rice and cook on medium flame. Keep stirring continuously.
- Add saffron soaked in milk.
- Add cardamom pwd, cinnamon pwd and sugar. Mix it well.
- Cover and cook on low flame for 1.30hrs- 2 hrs till it gets thick. Keep stirring continuously.
- Before serving, garnish with almonds.
- Serve hot or cold.
PS:
You can add dryfruits of your choice.
