Masala Aloo



Got to learn this recipe from my Mom....
Ingredients:
  • Potatoes: 4-5  (peeled and chopped)
  • Cumin seeds: 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds: 1 tsp
  • Coriander pwd: 1 tsp
  • Fennel pwd: 1tsp
  • Roasted cumin pwd: 1-2 tsp
  • Amchur (Mango pwd): 1/2-1 tsp
  • Salt
  • Black Pepper pwd: 1/2-1 tsp
  • Red chilli pwd: to taste
  • Oil: 1-2 tbsp

Method:

  1. Heat oil in pan. Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds.
  2. Let them splutter.
  3. Add potatoes, salt, red chilli pwd, coriander pwd, fennel pwd. Mix well.
  4. Let them cook for 10-15 mins on low flame till done.
  5. Add roasted cumin pwd, black pepper pwd and amchur. Mix well and cook for 2-3 mins.
  6. Serve hot with paranthas and yogurt/ raita.
