Moong Daal Burfi







Ingredients:
  • Yellow Moong Daal (Dhuli) : 1 cup
  • Sugar:1 cup
  • Saffron (Kesar): a pinch (soaked in 1 tbsp milk)
  • Ghee : 1 cup
  • Pistachios (chopped)


Method:
  1. Soak Moong Daal for 4-6 hours and grind it coarsely with a little water.
  2. Heat ghee in a thick bottomed pan and add Moong daal. Cook it on low flame till dal turns brown. Stir it continuously.
  3. Grease a plate and keep it aside.
  4. Add sugar, saffron milk to it. Keep stirring.
  5. Keep stiring till it achieves a uniform consistency .
  6. Turn off the gas and spread the mixture on greased plate.
  7. Sprinkle pistachios on it.
  8. Put the plate in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours.
  9. Cut in desired shape.
  10. Moong Daal Burfi is ready to serve.
