Atta Ladoos (My mom's recipe)

Qty: 18-20 medium sized ladoos
Shelf Life: 1 month (if stored in air-tight container)

Ingredients:

  • Atta/ Wheat Flour: 2 cups
  • Desi ghee: 1.75 cup
  • Powdered Sugar: 1 cup (You can add more if you want)
  • Dryfruits (Almonds, Cashews)- chopped or ground (1 cup)
  • Gond: 1 tsp (Grind to form powder) (optional)
  • Makhane (Grind) (optional)

Method:

  1. Heat ghee in pan.
  2. Add atta and mix well. Cook on slow flame for 20-25 mins. Keep stirring continuously.
  3. Cook until flour turns brown and  nice aroma starts coming. Also, the flour will ooze out ghee.
  4. Turn off the flame. Add powdered gond (Gond will crackle and puff up a bit). Mix well.
  5. After that, add makhane.
  6. Once the mixture cools a bit, add powdered sugar, dry fruits.
  7. Let the mixture cool a bit.
  8. Take 1-2 tbsp mixture in hand and make nice ladoos.
  9. Store in air- tight container.
PS:

  • Grind sugar before using.
  • If the mixture is hot, the ladoos will keep breaking.
  • Also, if the mixture is too dry, heat more ghee and add to the mixture and make nice ladoos.
