Biscuit Pudding

I tasted this dish at my friend Namita's place, who is herself a very good cook. I really liked it.Thanks to her for sharing the recipe.

Ingredients:
  • Milk: 300 ml
  • Drinking Chocolate powder: 1-2 tbsp
  • Sugar: 10-12 tbsp (or as per your taste)
  • Cocoa Powder: 2 tbsp (heaped)
  • Corn Flour: 3 tbsp (heaped)
  • Marie Biscuits
  • For garnish:
    • Cream: 1 tbsp
    • Choco chips
Method:
  •  For Chocolate Sauce:
    • In a bowl, add drinking chocolate powder, corn starch, cocoa powder. Add 4-5 tbsp of milk and make a lump- free paste/ batter.
    • In a pan, add remaining milk and sugar. Take a boil. Add the chocolate paste formed above.
    • Take a  boil. Keep stirring. Cook on low flame for about  5 mins until the sauce becomes little thick.
    • Turn off the flame.
    • Let the sauce cool down at room temperature for about 30 mins. (shown in pic below)

  • In a bowl/ dish, put a layer of biscuits.
  • Spread one layer of chocolate sauce. Then again put a layer of biscuits.

  • Again spread one layer of chocolate sauce. Then put a layer of biscuits.
  • Finally, a layer of chocolate sauce. (Generally, 3-5 layers of biscuits are sufficient)
  • For garnish, give a swirl of cream. Sprinkle some choco chips on the top. You can also decorate with gems.
  • Refrigerate it for 5-6 hours/ overnight before serving.
PS:
  • As per your likings, you can use anything for garnish like
    • gems,
    • chopped dry fruits,
    • mixture of chopped fruits and whipped cream
  • You can also add 1 tsp of coffee granules while making chocolate sauce.
  • You can make this dish a day before serving.
  • If you freeze it, it will turn out to be a delicious 'Chocolate Cookie Dough Icecream'. (see pic below)
