Chana daal Kadi



Ingredients:
  • Split Bengal gram (Chana daal): 1/4 cup
  • Salt: to taste
  • Red chilli pwd: to taste
  • Turmeric pwd: 1/2 tsp
  • Oil: 1-2 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds (Jeera) : 1/2 tsp
  • Fresh Coriander leaves: chopped
Method:
  1. Wash daal properly. Soak in ample water (~1-2cup ) for 10-15 mins.
  2. In a pressure cooker, add oil. Heat it. Add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
  3. Then add daal, courgette, red chilli pwd, salt, turmeric pwd and water .
  4. Take 1-2 whistles on high flame and cook on low flame for 2-3 mins.
  5. Turn off the flame.
  6. Grind the daal with hand mixer to form a smooth puree.
  7. Sprinkle coriander leaves.
  8. Ready to serve hot with chapati, naan, parantha or rice.
