Amla Chilli pickle

This is my Mom's recipe and it's always a hit. :)




Ingredients:

  • Amla/ Gooseberry: 15 
  • Green chilli: 8 (See pic for variety)
  • Saunf/ Fennel seeds: 1 tbsp (Ground or Sabut)
  • Salt
  • Dhaniya pwd: 1 tbsp
  • Haldi
  • Hing
  • Oil: 1tbsp




Method:
  • Wash amla and green chilli.
  • In a microwavable bowl, add amlas. Steam amla in microwave for 4-6 mins until soft (Don't add any water while steaming). Deseed them. 

  • Wipe green chillies to dry them. Then, cut green chillies as shown in pic.

  • Heat oil in pan.
  • Add hing and green chilli. Saute it for 2-3 mins to make it soft.
  • Add amla, salt, dhainya pwd, saunf and haldi. Mix well.
  • Cover and cook for 1-2 mins.
  • Ready to serve.
  • Can't be kept for 8-10 days (may go upto 2-3 weeks), if refrigerated.
