Date Burfi (Khajur ki Burfi)/ Date Halwa (Khajur ka Halwa)/ Date Rolls

Ingredients:
  • Dates : 1 cup (Deseeded)
  • Cardamom pwd: 1 tsp
  • Ghee: 3-4 tbsp
  • Chopped nuts: 1/3 cup (Pistachios, Almonds, Cashews)
  • Dessicated coconut (optional)

Method:
  1. Take 1/2 cup water in pan. Add dates and cook on low flame for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Cool and grind dates to form smooth paste.
  3. Heat ghee in pan.
  4. Add cardamom pwd and chopped nuts. Cook on low flame for 2-3 mins.
  5. Add dates paste. Mix well.
  6. Cook on low flame for 15 mins.
  7. Date Halwa: Ready to serve hot.


  • Date Burfi: 
    • Grease the plate lightly and spread mixture on a plate and refrigerate it for 45 mins- 1 hour.
    • Cut in desired shape with knife/ pizza cutter.
    • Date Burfi is ready to serve.



  •  Date Rolls:
    • Grease your hands and rolling pin lightly with ghee.
    • Place a sheet of baking paper/ butter paper on shelf.
    • Spread the mixture on it with hands.
    • Roll it lightly with rolling pin.
    • Sprinkle chopped dry fruits on it.
    • From one end, start rolling it to form a thin, long, tight log.



    • Sprinkle dessicated coconut on the log.
    • Refrigerate for 45- 60 mins.
    • Cut it into small fudge sized slices or 2-3 cm long rolls.
    • Ready to serve.
