Its a famous Nagpur Dessert as Nagpur is famous for oranges.
Ingredients:
- Maida/ Plain Flour: 1/2 cup
- Ghee: 1/4 cup
- Sugar: 1/2cup
- Milk: 1/2 cup
- Orange: 1
- Orange Color: 1-2 drops (optional)
- Orange Peels: peel of 1/2 orange (optional) (You can add peel of 1/4 orange if u dont want to make it too sour)
- Dry Fruits (chopped) (optional)
Method:
- Heat ghee in kadai/ pan.
- Add maida and cook on low flame till it it leaves sides and turns light golden color. Keep it aside.
- Peel orange and take out pulp. (You can squeeze out juice and sieve it. This will give approximately 1/2 cup juice)
- Syrup:
- Take another pan and add milk, orange pulp/juice, sugar and orange peels. Cook on medium- high flame for 20- 25 minutes. Add orange color and stir.
- Add the above syrup and dry fruits in the maida(cooked above) and mix well. Cook on low flame for 5 minutes till the mixture leaves sides of vessel (that is, the ghee starts separating from the mixture).
- Put the mixture on greased pan and spread it evenly.Sprinkle chopped dry fruit on it. Let it cool (You can also put mixture in fridge for 10-15 minutes )
- Cut it into any shape (square, rhombus) and Serve.
