Jaggery Rice/ Gud Wale Chawal



Ingredients:

  • Basmati Rice: 1 cup
  • Jaggery/ Gud: 3/4 th cup (~ 80-100 gms)
  • Ghee: 3-4 tbsp
Method:

  1. Wash rice and soak it in water(2 cups) for 10-15 mins.
  2. In a pan, melt ghee. Add rice and water(in which it was soaked). Cook it and keep it aside.
  3. Melt Jaggery in water (~1/4 cup) to form syrup.
  4. Mix Jaggery syrup with cooked rice and cook on low flame for 5 mins.
  5. Serve hot. You can garnish it with dry fruit.
