Bell Pepper Rice/ Capsicum Rice



Ingredients:
  • Basmati rice: 1 cup
  • Green Pepper: 1/2 
  • Red Pepper: 1/4
  • Yellow Pepper: 1/4
  • Onion: 1
  • Ginger: a small piece (chopped)
  • Salt: to taste
  • Black Pepper pwd: to taste
  • Chana daal: 1 tsp (Though I used Moong Dhuli Daal only) 
  • Urad daal: 1 tsp
  • Cinnamon pwd: a pinch
  • Cumin seeds: 1 tbsp
  • Oil: 2-3 tbsp

Method:

  1. Cut peppers and onion in thin long strips.
  2. Wash rice properly and dip in 2 cups water for 10 mins.
  3. Heat oil in pan. Add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
  4. Add onion and ginger. Cook till onions turn translucent.
  5. Dry roast chana daal and urad daal in a separate pan.
  6. Add pepper, salt, cinnamon pwd, urad daal, chana daal, balck pepper pwd and rice (with water in which it was soaked)
  7. Cook for 10-15 mins tilll rice is done.
  8. Serve hot.
