Ingredients:
- Basmati rice: 1 cup
- Green Pepper: 1/2
- Red Pepper: 1/4
- Yellow Pepper: 1/4
- Onion: 1
- Ginger: a small piece (chopped)
- Salt: to taste
- Black Pepper pwd: to taste
- Chana daal: 1 tsp (Though I used Moong Dhuli Daal only)
- Urad daal: 1 tsp
- Cinnamon pwd: a pinch
- Cumin seeds: 1 tbsp
- Oil: 2-3 tbsp
Method:
- Cut peppers and onion in thin long strips.
- Wash rice properly and dip in 2 cups water for 10 mins.
- Heat oil in pan. Add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
- Add onion and ginger. Cook till onions turn translucent.
- Dry roast chana daal and urad daal in a separate pan.
- Add pepper, salt, cinnamon pwd, urad daal, chana daal, balck pepper pwd and rice (with water in which it was soaked)
- Cook for 10-15 mins tilll rice is done.
- Serve hot.
