Bread Pakora with Potato Stuffing

Serves: 2

Ingredients:
  • Bread  (wheat bread) : 4-5 slices
  • Potato: 2-3 (boiled and mashed)
  • Onion:1 (chopped)
  • Gram Flour: 7-8 tbsp
  • Green chilli: 1 (chopped)
  • Coriander leaves (chopped)
  • Salt: to taste
  • Amchur (Mango pwd): 1 tsp (optional)
  • Ajwain (carom seeds): 1/2- 1 tsp
  • Oil: for frying

Method:

  1. For Stuffing:
    • Mix potatoes (mashed), onion, salt, amchur, coriander leaves and green chilli properly.
  2. Cut the edges of bread slices and then cut bread diagonally to form triangle. (You can give it square shape also)
  3. For Batter:
    • In a pan, add gram flour, salt, carom seeds and water to form batter. The batter should not be too thick.
  4. Take 2 tsp of stuffing and spread it evenly on one bread slice (spread in the centre of bread, don't spread on sides as we need to seal the corners/ sides)  (The layer of the stuffing should be thin). Cover it with other bread slice and press from the sides to seal the corners.
  5. Dip it in batter (It should be properly covered with batter on all sides)
  6. Heat oil in pan/ kadai.
  7. Deep fry till golden brown .
  8. Serve with tomato ketchup or coriander chutney.
