Stuffed Aloo Tikki


  • Potatoes : 6-8 (Boiled and mashed)
  • Salt: to taste
  • Red chilli pwd : to taste
  • Garam Masala: 1 tsp
  • Green chilli : 1-2 (chopped)
  • Oil : 1 tbsp
  • For Stuffing:
    • Grated coconut: 2-3 tbsp
    • Coriander Mint Chutney: 1 tbsp (just enough to coat grated coconut)
    • Salt: a pinch (optional)
  • Saunth/ Tamarind Chutney

  1. Stuffing: Mix all the ingredients of stuffing and Keep aside. (The stuffing should be a bit dry as we have to fill it in potatoes)
  2. In a pan, mix properly:  potatoes,  salt, green chilli, garam masala, salt and red chilli pwd .
  3. Take a little mixture on hand and Spread it.
  4. Put 1/4 tsp of stuffing in center and seal all the sides to make a ball. Genlty press it to flatten the ball.
  5. Grease slightly both sides of flatten balls. 
  6. Heat non-stick pan/ tawa.
  7. Put all the balls on pan and heat until they turn golden brown.
  8. Turn the side and cook until it turns golden brown.
  9. Serve tikki with tamarind chutney.
Another method of serving tikki:
  1. Put tikki in plate and put kabuli chane(boiled) and onion(chopped) on it.
  2. Put a little coriander mint chutney and saunth on it.
  3. Sprinkle salt and red chilli powder (if needed, as per taste).
  4. Serve as tikki chaat.
